HELP US PRESERVE HISTORY!

As many of you know, our Historical Society proudly owns the original 1926 Spiller school on Tazewell Street. Our efforts now turn to restoration and preservation. Preliminary surveys indicate it will need many repairs and updates before opening. Unfortunately we cannot do this alone, so we are calling on you to help bring life back to an historic structure that will provide for the greater good for current and future generations.

With your generous donation, we will transform the building into a space to serve as an educational and research hub for the Society, provide for the Junior Appalachia Music (JAM) program, and for museum programming. You may send your contribution to WCHS at 115 W. Spiller St. or to WCHS P. O. Box 730 Wytheville, VA 24382, or you can stop by the Heritage Preservation Center in person. We will be happy to display your name as a donor if desired. Help us honor a legacy of wonderful education in Wytheville!

Words cannot express how thankful we are for all of you!
LET’S DO THIS!!!!!

JUST ARRIVED!

The original Spiller Elementary School, commonly referred to as the Spiller Annex, is now available as a collectible wooden miniature building in The Museum Shop!! For $20 (plus tax), you can own a piece of history and support a good cause – $9 of every sale will be donated to the Wythe County Historical Society for their project of preserving and renovating the historic facility to provide educational and cultural opportunities for Wythe County residents! Located on Tazewell Street and constructed in 1927, the two story brick structure was recently donated by Wythe County to the WCHS.
