The Wythe County Rescue Squad was born from motivation, determination, and a will to help others in 1948. They have now joined forces with the Wytheville Fire Department and their combined title is Wytheville Fire and Rescue. It’s amazing what the squad accomplished and there’s no telling how many lives were saved. A history of the Wythe County Rescue Squad as told through squad members past and present will be released soon, but for now, donated pictures help capture what the squad was all about.
